2010
marked the 65th Anniversary of General Patton's most courageous rescue.
Colonel Ottomar Herrmann's family members tour the country
and join
with local organizations, usually beneficial, non-profitable or needy,
such as the S.P.C.A. or Humane Society.
While on their 1995 tour, Colonel Herrmann had
the privilege to work with American Military Academies and Forts to
commemorate
this courageous rescue 65 years back. Colonel Herrmann was
honored with the presence of General Patton, Jr., son of the late
General G. Patton, at one of his benefiting shows in Topsfield, MA.
Also during this 1995 tour, the Colonel got the
opportunity
to personally thank veterans that helped during the rescue.
